This slideshare is about technologies I have used through out y construction and research of my products, I talk about the ones that have benefit me positively and negatively and how I could improve.

Front cover

I have started to create the front cover of my magazine taking insertion from this Vibe magazine, I have followed the red box idea over to my magazine as I have red boxes throughout and it creates good continuity, However i feel like there is a lot of blank space not being used up.

I tried adding some text however it just looked pointless as it was too small and the blue faded into the background and ended up making more space.

Instead of trying to re create the Vibe magazine I decided to look and take inspiration from some where else and I found a Rolling stones magazine I liked the look of more, There was more text used and a wider variety of text on the page.

Why did I change?

I keep changing the layout as I have yet to find one I really like I am torn between the two of these however the Sight and Sound magazine is a film magazine which involves the BFI which makes it more of a independent film magazine something I am also doing so I had a go at replicating the style.

I first changed the sell line to match that of Sight & Sound and added my red box which I use to link all of my final pieces together.

I decided to change my title to make it look more like a logo which I can use o other pages of my magazine I also changed it to NORTH EAST instead of The North east and I think it looks a lot better  I have also changed the font style to help add to diversity and make my magazine look more interesting.

By trying out this new layout benefits me in development as i have lot of different options and I can see which ne looks more like a regional magazine than the other or I can mix the 2 ideas into one and make it more interesting ver all.

Synergy throughout my products

I created a slide share talking about the synergy throughout all my products I think this is a good idea as it will help keep me on track on how I think all my products as one I also think it will help me see what my main color scheme is or text fonts I like to use and how i link them all as 1.

Billboard Draft

I took inspiration from this TOM FORD billboard  I like how classy it looks and professional but it doesn't link to my style enough so I will have to go back and have a look to see how I can link My billboard in with my website and magazine.

I decided to try and incorporate the boxes prevalent in both my magazine and website. I kept the same color scheme to marry them all together. I am still not so sure about the image I used it looks professional as it was taken in a photography studio, however my billboard looks too much like a fashion billboard rather than a film one

I went out over the week end and took some pictures of the bridge in newcastle I also took some pictures of cameras so it would link into my film magazine as it is a magazine about film, I tried to make the billboard not busy, they colours link in with my costume and I didn't want to have any faces in it as regional magazines focus more on the location rather than the model. I think I will just use the images of the bridge on its own as its the least busy.

I have tested out another image I took in newcastle which I think looks a lot more appropriate. It i also references the North East because of the bridge. The main issue with this image is the buildings in he background it looks very crowded and draws your attention away from he bridge.

I opened photoshop and tried out the same affect as my reader profile when I used the gradient tool to make my reader red to match the color scheme. I deleted the back ground using the magic wand tool and the Lasso tool.

using the gradient tool I cold slide between the different shades of red, I went for the same red through out to have continuity.

This is how my billboard looks so far and I am happy with what it looks like.

Reader Profile

I have created a reader profile to help me see what my target audience would like and be interested in I have collected information from girls and boys to see which gender I would appeal more to and age. From my research I have found that ages 18-20 in part time work or in a full job but with a love of film in mind.

I have created a Reader profile for a audience member, I have made it look official to my magazine. I chose colours that matched my colour scheme, I decided to choose Rebecca as she meets stands out as the best audience member she ticks all the boxes and I want to build my magazine around similar interests.
